Ericksonian Hypnosis Metaphors For Positive Change

National Guild of Hypnotists

The late Milton H. Erickson, considered by many to be the "father" of modern medical hypnosis and brief strategic psychotherapy. Milton Erickson was a Psychiatrist who practiced hypnotherapy extensively from the 1920's until his death in 1987. The artistry of Milton H. Erickson, M.D. acclaimed for his presentation of subtle and powerful clinical skills and for Erickson's valuable contribution to the art of therapeutic communication.  Ericksonian hypnosis is characterized by indirect suggestion, often communicating in metaphor instead of the more traditional approach to hypnosis which is authoritarian in nature. Learning to use metaphors in hypnosis with a client, or for yourself and creating the metaphor that works for a specific problem is the purpose of this class. Certificate is awarded upon completion of the class and appropriate homework.
